Hi. My name is Simon Harvey, I am currently spending a year in Australia studying for a post-graduate qualifcation in primary teaching. Previously I worked as an education hearing support assistant. I worked with children who have hearing impairments within schools on the Channel Island of Guernsey (www.guernseydeafnews.org.gg). I designed the sign to me software as a result of my frustration with the lack of good quality CD-ROM resources available for BSL users with literacy difficulties. The software was really designed only to be used by my students in Guernsey, but seeing it in use I realised its potential and decided that I would like to share it with other people who could make use of it.
I setup Waterfall Rainbows during 2005 as a way to market this software and make it available to people throughout the UK (and beyond!).
After the success of Sign to Me I decided to look at ways to make sign language better recognised and understood by all people. As a result I spent 8 months producing and developing an online course that is available at low cost to anybody with access to the internet.
Work has now begun on an exciting new project that I hope to launch early in 2007, so watch this space! (click here)
