NHS & care
Trusts, hospices, GP practices and care homes looking to introduce staff to everyday BSL vocabulary and basic Deaf-awareness concepts.
Enrol your department, ward, staff team, class or organisation in our introductory self-study BSL course. Each learner receives their own login, progress record and certificate of completion for the CPD-certified course. You choose the per-learner contribution, from £5.
It teaches everyday BSL, with some background on Deaf culture and respectful communication – but it is not a dedicated Deaf-awareness course led by a Deaf trainer.

Council customer-service teams, libraries, police, fire and ambulance crews who interact with the public.
Teaching, pastoral and SEN/inclusion staff. Includes Deaf-awareness learning that may support staff development.
Retail, hospitality, banking, contact-centres and DEI programmes. A practical introduction for staff who communicate with customers and the public.
The course is introductory. It does not qualify staff to interpret or replace professional communication support, and it does not assess the learner’s own signing.
Nothing about the learner experience changes when you enrol a group. It’s the same ten-section course with the same certificate of completion. The only difference is you pay once for the whole group.

Set your per-learner price using the Pay What You Can slider. The minimum is £5.
Pay by card, or by purchase order or bank transfer for organisations.
From your enrolment dashboard, either enter each learner’s name and email yourself, or share a self-enrolment link and let learners register themselves. Either way, each learner gets their own login, progress and a certificate of completion.
Exactly the same Pay What You Can model as for individuals: you choose how much to pay per learner, from a minimum of £5 to a default regular price of £30. The total is simply your chosen per-learner price multiplied by the number of learners.
Self-service enrolment works for organisations of all sizes, in a single order. If you need unlimited learner places, or have specific billing or procurement requirements, contact us and we’ll tailor an arrangement rather than the standard per-learner checkout.
Yes. At checkout you can pay by debit or credit card, or choose the invoice option and pay by bank transfer or purchase order, with a VAT invoice generated automatically. If your finance team needs a formal quote first, generate a PDF quote with the calculator above.
No. Each learner activates their own login when they’re ready. They have two years’ access from their first login, so a phased rollout across the team is fine.
Yes. Each learner who finishes the course gets their own certificate of completion for the CPD-certified course, in their name, ready to add to a personal CPD record or staff training file.
The course also introduces Deaf culture, hearing loss and respectful communication. It is not a substitute for dedicated Deaf awareness training delivered by a Deaf trainer.
Not directly. Our online course is CPD-certified but is not a regulated Level 1–6 qualification. Many learners go on to do a Level 1 evening course at a local college afterwards.
Yes. Many young people use the course for the Skills section of their DofE. See our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award page for how it works and how we submit the assessor report to eDofE.
